De herdertjes lagen bij nachte

De herdertjes lagen bij nachte,
Zij lagen bij nacht in het veld.
Zij hadden hun schaapjes geteld.
Daar hoorden zij d'engelen zingen
Hun liederen vloeiend en klaar;
De herders naar Betlehem gingen:
’t Liep tegen het nieuwe jaar
Toen zij er te Betlehem kwamen,
Daar schoten drie stralen dooreen:
Een straal van omhoog zij vernamen,
Een straal uit het kribje beneén;
Toen vlamd' er een straal uit hun ogen
En viel op het Kindeke teer;
Zij stonden tot schreiens bewogen,
En knielden bij Jezus neer.
Maria die bloosde van weelde,
Van ootmoed en lieflijke vreugd';
De goede Sint Jozef, hij streelde
Het Kindje, der mensen geneugt';
De herders bevalen te weiden
Hun schaapkens aan d'engelenschaar:
Wij kunnen van 't kribje niet scheiden
Wij wachten het nieuwe jaar.
Och Kindje, och Kindje dat heden
in ’t nederige stalletje kwaamt,
ach laat ons uw paden betreden,
want Gij hebt de wereld beschaamd.
Gij kwaamt om de wereld te winnen,
de machtigste vijand te slaan;
de kracht uwer liefde van binnen
kan wereld noch hel weerstaan.

Beklijft mijn lichaam overal.
Het stemt me bij deze atmosferis.
De os en ezel in de stal.
Door de speakers klinken muziekjes.
Die brengen mij in lichte trance.
Men koopt alom cadeaugeriefjes of men vangt
aan met een nieuwe romance.

Paul de postman moet weer zwoegen.
Englen haar vliegt zo maar rond.
Wij wensen een zalig tot genoegen.
Bevrozen blijkt de ondergrond.
Door de speakers klinken muziekjes.
Die brengen mij in lichte trance.
Men koopt alom cadeaugeriefjes of men
vangt aan met een nieuwe romance.

Dank u vriendelijk formidabel.
Met Kerstmis zijn we’r geren bij.
Iedereen is zo aimabel. De petekindren zijn heel blij.
Door de speakers klinken muziekjes.
Die brengen mij in lichte trance.
